Process

The figure below presents the general industrial process flow with the OptiCept™ processing system:

The pre-processed (e.g. sorted, washed, cut) products enter the Opti-Cept system where they are PEF (Pulsed Electric Filed) and VI (Vacuum Impregnation) treated. In the OptiCept™ processing system different recipes can be chosen depending on the product. OptiCap™ is a mixture of compounds (mainly cryoprotectants) which is impregnated into the product to improve its appearance after freezing (Optifreeze) or extend its shelf life (OptiFresh and OptiFlower). OptiCap™ contains only natural compounds and its final concentration in the product is less than 2%. OptiCap™ is not used in our drying application (OptiDry).

After the treatment, the product is forwarded for post-processing treatment (e.g. drying, packing, and freezing).
